Two Researchers from the College of Engineering Publish Research in an International Journal
Prof. Dr. Fadhil Rahma Taher and Eng. Abdul-Basit Abdul-Samad Al-Hussein, the two teaching staff in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Basrah, and in cooperation with researchers from the Universities of Canada’s Monitopia and Huzhou of China, conducted a joint scientific research in the Electronics magazine, which is considered one of the international scientific journals with a high impact factor IF=2.412 in the MDPI publishing house entitled:
"Preventing Chaotic Oscillation in an Electric Power System by Using a Synergistic Adaptive Controller"

. The research aims to study the chaotic fluctuation in electrical power systems, which occurs due to many factors such as changing electrical loads or sudden disturbances, which may lead to the collapse of the entire electrical system.
A synergistic adaptive controller has been proposed to prevent this behavior from occurring to increase the stability of the system. The results prove the ability of the proposed controller to increase the immunity of the electrical system and improve its quality. This work is considered a link to be added to the series of achievements of the College of Engineering, the Department of Electrical Engineering, which aims to develop the scientific and academic level of the college and raise the university’s score in international rankings. This research also comes within the scientific cooperation with international universities in developed countries.
