Master's thesis at the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah discussing (a practical and theoretical study of the cold rolling process)

The thesis submitted by the student, Ibtisam Mohi Maneh, included a practical part, which includes rolling sheets of carbon steel AISI 1012.

With a thickness of 2.8 mm, it was cut into rectangular samples and carbon steel wires. The experimental study also included tensile and hardness tests for sample Plates and Wire Hardness Testing. The thesis aims at choosing a cold rolling process to study the effect of different reduction ratios on the mechanical properties of sheet and wire, study of deformation behavior of low carbon steel wire.

The thesis concluded that the stress of submission increases with increasing reduction ratios, a microstructure test is performed to indicate the effect of cold flat rolling on the microstructure and grain size as well as to investigate the possibility of increasing yield stress by refinement of grains.
