College of Engineering has prepared an exceptional practical program to face the Corona pandemic crisis when it was announced in Basrah Governorate. Working teams have been formed to implement this program. A number of faculty teachers have received many certificates of appreciation and letters of thanks from various bodies, including: the World Health Organization, the Governor of Basra, the Governor of Muthanna, the Governor of Wasit, the Popular Mobilization Authority, the Academics Syndicate, and from a number of members of the Parliament and others.

 The teams took all the necessary measures to prepare the materials, equipment, and logistical support mechanisms, and provide all that is available to all government and community sectors in Basra and other governorates in the following areas:

Fumigation of the departments and colleges of the Garmat Ali campus, in cooperation with the CPRN unit in the Directorate of Civil Defense in Basra, providing the College of Pharmacy with primary chemicals to prepare hand sterilization liquids, bottles and sprays, production of sterilization liquids, disinfection and fumigation, production of disinfection liquids for the dead bodies of the Corona virus and workers in health institutions, design and manufacture Self-operating people disinfection cabins, virtual workshops and seminars, food baskets and social solidarity work, awareness campaigns and the distribution of personal protective equipment, manufacturing face masks for medical and security personnel, manufacturing artificial respirators, establishing an industrial coordination room in Basra province to support the efforts of the Basra Health Department with supplies and support work, maintenance and rehabilitation of hospital incinerators in the province to reduce pollution and safe disposal of waste, coordination and work on maintenance of oxygen production units in the Ports Teaching Hospital in Basrah, the electronic platform for following up on Corona virus in the governorate, preparation and design of the electronic management project to confront the pandemic Covid19 in Basra Governorate, design of daily health remote monitoring platforms for home isolated people, and preparing and designing a system for sending the results of examination laboratories to citizens electronically.
