The President of the University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, opening a new laboratory for the Petroleum Engineering Department at the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah, equipped with the latest computers and with high specifications to suit the petroleum engineering programs.
 Where the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Ramzy Salim Ali, stated that this laboratory is a new harvest added to the achievements of the College of Engineering
