In cooperation with the Rapid Response Division in the Basrah Governorate Police Command, the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah held an educational symposium entitled (Prevention of Electronic Extortion and Drug Prevention) in the presence of Colonel Muhammad Hatem Hassan - Information Department of Basra Police, Lt. Colonel Mustafa Ali Najm - Rapid Response Division, Second Lieutenant Raghad Hakim

The symposium, presented by Colonel Muhammad Hatem Hassan - Basrah Governorate Police Information Department, dealt with the causes of drug abuse, its impact and harms on the abuser and those around him, and the punishment and prevention of drug abusers.

The symposium also focused on the nature of electronic blackmail, its users and its forms of account hacking, recovering deleted files,Impersonation, threatening and intimidating the victim, defamation and leaking confidential information about the victim and spreading rumors in return for payment of money, and the victim is usually hunted from social media

The aim of the symposium is legal and civil awareness, prevention of electronic extortion and drug prevention
