University of Basrah publishes a book on optical fiber sensor technology

Dr. Hisham Kazem Hisham, a lecturer at the College of Engineering, University of Basrah, issued a book on “Fiber-Optic Sensor Technology”

He discussed the most important fields of modern science, which is the field of optical sensor technology

The book is composed of 140 pages and ten chapters in the first four chapters. The book discusses the basic principles of optical sensing technology in a simplified manner, making it suitable for all levels of study and research, while the remaining chapters are concerned with practical applications of optical sensing technology in all fields.

The fifth chapter discussed the field of optical sensor technology within oil and gas applications, and the sixth chapter discussed the field of civil engineering applications, and the seventh chapter touched upon the fields of medical applications.

And in the eighth chapter it discussed the fields of military applications in addition to the ninth chapter the areas of harsh environments applications, while the tenth chapter discusses the fields of optical sensing within the fields of marine navigation engineering

The book aims to present the basic principles of optical sensing technology in line with the tremendous development in the concept of optical fibers

It is noteworthy that the systematic book is the first of its kind in the world, and the book was published in the most important and oldest publishing house in the world, which is Taylor&Francis group
