A thesis in the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah discussed (crack analysis in functionally graded materials under the influence of mechanical and thermal load using DIC and xefgm methods)
The message presented by (Wafa Farouk Shaker) included the determination of the severity of abortion SIFs practically by means of the digital image correlation technique (DIC) for the cracks. The manufactured model consists of five layers graded functionally, ranging from pure epoxy on one side to 60% glass _ 40% epoxy on the other side. It is noted that There is a good agreement and stability in the results of SIFs while changing the values of William s (term: 8-3), the mean error to the values of the stress coefficients between the non-lattice numerical method and the practical method does not exceed 0.06,
The aim of the thesis is to determine the mechanical properties and crack analysis in functionally graded materials (FGM) made of glass grains and epoxy compounds.
Numerically, the values of the stress coefficients were obtained for the application of a functionally graded material that contains a crack (Mixed mod problem) and under the influence of heat load, where very close and identical results were obtained to the results of the relevant sources, where previously the developed method XEFGM was not used to analyze fracture problems within thermal loads.
