Mechanical Engineering Department

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established along with the Department of Civil and Electrical Engineering with the beginning of the establishment of the College of Engineering at the beginning of the academic year 1964/1965. The teaching staff includes more than 50 teachers holding master’s and doctoral degrees in various disciplines of mechanical engineering, such as applied mechanical engineering, refractory engineering, fluid engineering, production engineering and metallurgy, and measurement and control engineering.
The number of undergraduate students is more than 517 students and 45 students in postgraduate studies. The duration of study in the department is four years, after which the graduate is awarded a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Postgraduate studies in the department began from the academic year 1976-1977 to award a higher diploma and then a master's degree, and doctoral studies began in the academic year 1992-1993.
