The College of Engineering at the University of Basrah has started the construction of a five-a-side football field in the College of Engineering’s yard.

And the administrative assistant to the dean of the college, Dr. Bassem Talib, indicated that the purpose of establishing the stadium is the college's belief in the importance of sports for the student and the importance of the recreational aspect and his physical health.

Noting that the construction of the stadium came with self-financing and the efforts of the self-engineering cadres, explaining that the work began two weeks ago and the stadium will be according to FIFA specifications.
