A master's thesis at the University of Basra discusses the structural Behavior of Composite Beams Connected by Y-Rib Shear Connectors Using Recycled Concrete

A master’s thesis by student Muhammad Nouri Salman, Department of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering, was discussed. It included the extent of the impact of the structural behaviour of composite bridges connected by Y-shaped shear connectors with two concrete mixes. The first mix used regular concrete while the second mix used recycled concrete. As for the theoretical study, the Abaqus/CAE program was used to analyze the above-mentioned models
The researcher concluded that laboratory testing of the shear connector models that were used gave the models strength that increased by 14% for models made of regular concrete and 13% for models with recycled concrete and for models in which an iron rod with a diameter of 20 mm was used. It increases by 16% for models with regular concrete and 19% for models with recycled concrete. It increases by 18% for models with regular concrete and 20% for models with recycled concrete. Models in which it is used. Smooth iron sheets with a thickness of 3 mm, formed in the shape of the letter Y
