The College of Engineering at the University of Basra holds an intellectual symposium for the Thaqalayn Cultural Center

The College of Engineering at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Holy Shrine of Hussein, represented by the Al-Thaqalain Cultural Center affiliated with the Department of Intellectual Affairs, held an intellectual guidance symposium, which is one of a series of symposiums held in all departments of the college. Today’s symposium was entitled (The university student’s position on imported ideas). The symposium, which was held in the Department of Electrical Engineering and in the presence of a number of faculty members, employees, and a group of students from the department, included Dr. Hassoun Al-Battat, who spoke about the ideas imported from Western societies and how the Islamic society was influenced by those ideas, especially the students. Mr. Al-Battat gave some guidance advice. The symposium aims to educate students and guide them to reject some of the ideas issued to us by the West that affect moral values ​​and the teachings of the true religion. Mr. Al-Battat also talked about Muslim books, explained some of the texts in them, and answered the students’ questions. He also talked about realistic and real characters who only speak with evidence and knowledge, and how to develop the character and how it differs from the imaginary character
