The College of Engineering at the University of Basra held a meeting with the College of Engineering at China Petroleum University on the Zoom platform
The meeting, which was attended by the Iraqi side, included the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Mufid Turki Rashid, the Head of the Petroleum Engineering Department, Dr. Haider Moaz Muhammad, the Head of the Chemical Engineering Department, Dr. Asaad Abdel Sayed, and the program coordinators, while the Chinese side was attended by the Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of China Petroleum and the Department of Cultural Affairs and Foreign Exchange of China Petroleum University are sponsored by China Petroleum Corporation
During the meeting, many issues of interest to both parties were discussed, as it was agreed to prepare a preliminary memorandum of understanding adopted by the College of Engineering at the University of Basra, which will then be sent to China Petroleum University for the purpose of preparing the final version. The agreement includes projects and programs at three levels: projects and programs for quick and medium implementation. In the time of implementation and programs that take long periods of time and include rapid implementation, opening electronic offices for international magazines and books located at the University of China, which allows the Iraqi student and researcher in the College of Engineering to enter and benefit from its contents. Also, a memorandum of understanding will be prepared by both parties and the agreement will be signed at the China Petroleum University. In the presence of the Iraqi side and the Chinese side, after completing the preparation of the agreement, the possibility of sending a group of graduate students to conduct training at the Chinese Petroleum University will also be discussed
