The College of Engineering at the University of Basra, Department of Architectural Engineering, held a festival of student works entitled The History of Architecture between the Past and the Present. The festival’s activities included a speech by the head of the Architectural Engineering Department and an introductory lecture, in addition to a documentary film about the stages of development of architecture and architectural trends, then moving to an exhibition of student works on the development of architecture during different eras. It presented examples of various architectural styles that reflect previous civilizations up to the modern era, with a brief explanation by the subject teachers about each stage and style. The Dean of the College praised the events and activities that took place during the festival and the great interaction of students and teachers with the festival’s topic, which reflects the importance of the topic.
