A teacher from the College of Engineering presents a training workshop on the quality of education for the engineering major in the Ministerial Teaching Methods course

Assistant Professor Dr. Adi Bashir Issa, teaching assistant at the College of Engineering, University of Basra, Department of Electrical Engineering, presented a training workshop on the quality of education within the seventh unit of the curriculum of the ministerial teaching methods course, which is held in the Center for Development and Continuing Education at our university.
The workshop reviewed the quality pioneers and the most important terminology related to quality and engineering specialization, QA/QC and ISO according to international standards. The workshop included the Ishakaw diagram for analyzing the cause and effect of any problem in light of the main and secondary causes and their analysis. The workshop also covered the introduction to SWOT analysis and the steps of analyzing elements with applied examples and many activities and tasks. A detailed presentation of the Demick Continuous Improvement (PDCA) cycle was also provided.
The workshop aims, firstly, to identify and assist in implementing total quality management initiatives and to generally help improve operations. Secondly, explore a group of solutions to problems, and try them out in a controllable way before choosing one of them for implementation. Third, avoid wasting resources by rolling out an ineffective solution at scale.
