A lecturer in the College of Engineering publishes a research in a reputable international journal

Dr. Faleh Mahdi Musa published a scientific research in the international journal (Wireless Personal Communications), which is one of the journals affiliated with the international publishing house (Springer) and classified within the following containers: Clarivate and with an impact factor of (1.9) Scopus (3.5=CiteScore) within the second quarter Q2 in cooperation with Dr. Abdul Ghafour Abdul Ghaffar Abdul Hamid, a lecturer from the Southern Technical University, entitled Developing a standard antenna used in international laboratories for measurements of conformity and electromagnetic interference.

The research includes proposing a new antenna for the purpose of using it in electromagnetic conformity laboratories as a standard antenna instead of the one used in international laboratories, which is expensive and large in size in addition to its heavy weight. The results of the research confirmed that the proposed design has characteristics identical to the standard antenna used in international laboratories. The results also confirmed that the size of the proposed antenna is 50% smaller than the size of the standard antenna, and that its weight reduction rate reaches more than 75% and its cost reduction reaches more than 60%. The proposed antenna was examined and its measurements were taken in the Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory at the University of South Bohemia in the Czech Republic, which is one of the internationally accredited global laboratories.
