The College of Engineering, University of Basra, Department of Computer Engineering, organized a scientific visit to Al-Hartha Power Station under the supervision of the Department of Computer Engineering as part of a scientific study trip aimed at learning about the operating and control system, which contributed to expanding the students' awareness. Al-Hartha Power Station is one of the oldest and most important power facilities in Iraq, providing electricity to the city of Basra and surrounding areas.
Al-Hartha Power Station is a power generation facility responsible for the production and distribution of electricity. It operates with a variety of generators that convert mechanical energy into electrical energy, which is then supplied to the grid. The station is equipped with control rooms that monitor and manage the performance of generators, transformers and switches, ensuring stable and efficient power distribution. In addition, servers and IT infrastructure support control systems, and process real-time data for operational control and system diagnosis. This integrated setup helps maintain reliable electricity supplies to surrounding areas.
