Under the auspices of Dr.Saad Shaheen, president of Basrah University, and under the supervision of Dr. Ramzi Salim, Dean of the college of Engineering, the college of Engineering conducted an opening ceremony of an IT Lab supported by Asia Cell for Communication Company. That was the fruit of shared efforts of the computer engineering Department and Asia Cell. The lab is supplied with internationally used equipments for nets,servers and centers.

Dr. Mohammed Al Ebadi, head of the Department of Computer Engineering stated that the purpose of opening this lab is to train the students how to use the new IT Technologies and to provide them with the required skills for wider academic scope. The lab is the proper seed to start a branch of the International Cisco Academy in the Engineering College for deeper scientific knowledge in this field by conducting training workshops. We hope it is worth mentioning that the retired professors were also honored for their successful academic career.
