a master’s thesis at the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah discussing (the dynamic response of the stereostructures in the form of a half cylinder)
The thesis presented by the student Rasha Shaker Jawad dealt with the use of the finite element method to assess the response of the double-layer half-cylinder space structures during the earthquake.
Determine the natural frequencies and failure profiles of different models using free vibration analysis. Force vibration analysis and time history analysis were conducted to examine the models' performance through seismic loading.
3D linear dynamic analyzes are performed using SAP2000 . software
The thesis concluded that the basic natural frequency of free vibration decreases with the increase of the bending angle
When the depth of the structures increases, the basic natural frequency of free vibration increases. The unit angle of 45 degrees gives the largest value for the basic natural frequency of free vibration.
