
In honor of their memory and in appreciation of their sacrifices, the University of Basrah held a memorial ceremony for the second anniversary of the martyrdom of the leaders of victory, Hajj Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis and Hajj Qassem Soleimani, under the auspices of the President of University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering Dr. Ramzy Salim Ali.
The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Noble Qur’an and the reading of Surat Al-Fatihah, followed by the eulogy, where the President of the University delivered a speech in which he remembered the martyrs and their sacrifices, expressing in his words his gratitude for the sacrifices made by the martyrs that achieved victory and stability in the country.
Sheikh Hamid Al-Halfi also gave a lecture that dealt with two axes, the first axis, during which he explained the impact of martyrdom and jihad for the sake of God and how it is a duty on man to reach dignity
As for the second axis, during which he mentioned the duties of each person towards the Mujahideen. Among these duties are commemorating their memory, field presence, virtual attendance and keeping the flag raised. An introductory video was shown during the ceremony about the life of the martyr Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis and his heroism.
The ceremony was attended by the deans of all colleges, heads of departments, and a number of college, staff and students of the College of Engineering
On the sidelines of the event, an exhibition of pictures of martyrs was held for a group of students.
