University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Iraqi Council for the Accreditation of Engineering Education, organizes a workshop entitled (National Standards for Accreditation of the Engineering Education Program)

The College of Engineering at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Iraqi Council for the Accreditation of Engineering Education, organized a workshop entitled (National Standards for Accreditation of the Engineering Education Program)

The workshop consisted of three lectures

The first lecture was given by the President of the Council, Prof. Ziyad Suleiman Muhammad Khaled gave an overview of the council and the approved standards

The second lecture, which was given by Assist. Prof. Dr. Ali Naji Attia, also dealt with education based on educational outcomes.

As for the third lecture, delivered by Prof. Galal Muhammad Jalil, it dealt with measuring and designing educational outcomes.

The aim of the workshop is to introduce the most important work carried out by the Iraqi Council for the Accreditation of Engineering Education giving a clear picture of all the requirements for obtaining Iraqi accreditation and focusing on the procedures of engineering colleges for the purpose of reaching readiness and conducting evaluation and review.. The mechanisms used to complete the requirements, the method of evaluation, review and correction, and timetables for each stage and each mechanism were also discussed.

 

During the workshop, a discussion was opened with the President and members of the Iraqi Accreditation Council, and there were interventions and inquiries from the Dean of the College, the Scientific Associate and the College professors..

At the end of the workshop, the Dean honored the president and members of the council and thanked them for taking the trouble of traveling and coming to the college and for the valuable lectures delivered during the workshop.
