College of Engineering at the University of Basrah open scientific laboratories

As part of the university infrastructure development project in order to support scientific innovation and instill modern education concepts among students and develop their skills, the Civil Engineering Department in the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah opened a computer lab equipped with 25 new computers and all the required supplies

In addition to the opening of the physics laboratory and equipping it with all the required supplies of equipment to conduct eight laboratory experiments for first-stage students, such as a device for conducting a longitudinal expansion experiment, a device for conducting six laboratory experiments on the laws of motion and a device for conducting an experiment with the friction coefficient and the sliding friction coefficient

The geology laboratory was also rehabilitated, and all the required requirements were provided in the laboratory, including new seats and the installation of cooling units.

The head of the civil engineering department Prof. Dr. Sarmad Abdullah Abbas, said that the Deanship of the College of Engineering work to supply its laboratories with modern scientific devices and equipment is in order to refine students’ skills and provide them with scientific information to qualify them to work after graduation.
