University of Basrah holds a specialized workshop entitled (Future prospects for the national industry in Iraq / 2)

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and the Director General of the General Company for Southern Fertilizers, Mr. Badi’ Abdullah Ahmed, and under the supervision of the Deanship of the College of Engineering, a specialized workshop was held in the College of Engineering entitled (Future prospects for the national industry in Iraq / 2) The workshop dealt with several subjects, including the plans of the Ministry of Industry and minerals to return to the national industry, future prospects for the fertilizer industry, the role of research centers in supporting the industrial sector, the role of the private sector in developing the national industry, the contributions of the University of Basrah in supporting the industrial sector. 
The workshop aims to review the recommendations prepared in the previous workshop, which was held in 2020 and discussing the most important developments in the field of fertilizer industry in Iraq and the most important technical and industrial measures to restore the national industry in Iraq to the level it should reach, and clarifying the plans that the Ministry of Industry and Minerals and related institutions seek to upgrade this vital sector, as well as the role of universities and other government institutions in Supporting the industrial sector in Iraq and the most important experiences carried out in this field.
Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Maath Mohammad, Associate Dean of the College of Engineering, indicated that the workshop witnessed many interventions from the president of the university and the audience interested in developing the reality of industry in Iraq, and their observations and recommendations were taken.
It is worth noting that this workshop is the fifth in a row that brings together the General Company for Southern Fertilizers and the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah.
