On Tuesday, January 29, 2019, the Continuing Education Center held a course for IELTS test techniques. At the College of Engineering, University of Basrah, the course included several main axes, including a comprehensive introduction to the components of the test, in addition to identifying the method of correction for the exam and what are the basic requirements for each part to obtain the required score. Also, a practical listening test was given with the revision and techniques required to reduce errors. The course also included how to improve vocabulary in both writing and speaking according to the correction criteria used in this test. In addition to explaining how to write for each of the first and second parts and giving examples and academic phrases that can be used to improve performance in the exam well. Finally, there was a question-and-answer segment where the participants' questions were answered interactively.

The course was attended by many teachers of Basrah University from various faculties in addition to the University of Maysan, as well as the presence of some engineers from other ministries. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Uday Bashir, a lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering.
