The College of Engineering at the University of Basrah holds a workshop on the role of universities in industry

The College of Engineering at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Minerals and the industrial companies affiliated with the Ministry of Industry and Minerals in Basrah, held a workshop entitled (The Role of Universities in Supporting the Industrial Sector) in the presence of managers and representatives of industrial companies in Basrah, a representative of Representative Mazen Al-Mazini, in addition to professors and students of the College of Engineering.

The workshop aims to develop the industrial sector in Iraq through cooperation with Iraqi universities and activate research and invention activity. The workshop was opened with a speech by Prof. Dr. Rabee Hashem Thajil, Dean of the College of Engineering at Basra University, after a fragrant recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and Surat Al-Fatihah in mercy to the martyrs of the Iraqi armed forces in the army and the popular crowd. In his welcoming speech, the Dean of the College of Engineering indicated the role of the College of Engineering in particular and the University of Basra in general in supporting state institutions in terms of providing them with specialized engineering cadres and engineering consultancy, and also referred to the role of universities in drawing strategic steps to enhance the plans of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals. Thajil expressed his full readiness to cooperate in all fields and specializations with the Ministry of Industry and Minerals to activate the university's role in solving problems associated with production operations in industrial companies in Basra.

In his speech at the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, the consulting engineer, Mr. Fawzi Abbas, emphasized the role of the University of Basra in cooperating with the ministry's companies in Basra in terms of research, consultancy, student training, and others. At the end of the workshop, some gifts and certificates of appreciation were distributed to the participants in the workshop.
