The College of Engineering at the University of Basra received a delegation from UNICEF with a visit, where the delegation met with the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Mufid Turki Rashid, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Sarmad Abdullah, and the head of the Architectural Engineering Department, Dr. Hamid Hayab Samir. The visit, which comes as a continuation of previous visits, aims to strengthen cooperation ties. Between the organization and the college and finding an appropriate mechanism to involve students in the projects implemented by the organization in the city of Basra, especially with regard to reviewing and modifying school designs in terms of applying sustainability standards in addition to adopting green architecture in school and university buildings, investing in natural resources and saving energy. This comes within the framework of the capacity building project that the organization is pursuing regarding the student sector.
