A joint research project will be implemented in the Tawke oil field in the city of Zakho in Dohuk city through a joint scientific committee between the College of Engineering at University of Basrah and its counterpart at Zakho University.

The project aims to improve the quality of well injection water after conducting laboratory analyzes and its impact on the quality of the extracted crude oil. And then develop laboratory solutions to treat the quality of injection water to obtain a good quality of crude oil by controlling pollutants in the composition of crude oil with its implementation in the field for the purpose of increasing the field's production of crude oil.
