The College of Engineering at the University of Basrah signed a joint scientific cooperation mechanism with the Basrah Gas Company in order to serve the community and science and to provide benefits to the students and graduates of the University of Basrah, the Basrah community and the oil and gas industry in Basrah

The purpose of the agreement is to open the door for cooperation between the University of Basrah and the Basrah Gas Company in serving the public interest of Iraq and Basrah Governorate in various scientific, technical, administrative and cultural fields, which will develop education, training and experiences for both parties.

The Commissioner Director of the Basrah Gas Company, Mr. Malcolcom Mays, added that this cooperation allows the company to benefit from scientific advice, benefit from research and service centers, cadres and human resources, and benefit from the engineering workshops and training centers available in the college. During the agreement, it was agreed to attract the first students from the graduates of the University of Basra to work with the company and to coordinate between the competent committees of the two parties to open the company’s doors to the university’s primary studies students for the purpose of conducting summer training in addition to field visits, as well as facilitating the task of graduate students and researchers by providing general information Related to work problems and its development, taking advantage of the company’s laboratories and equipment, and joint coordination to sponsor and support conferences and scientific, cultural and artistic activities.
