A delegation from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad visited the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah, consisting of Prof. Ahad Thabit the president of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad,  (Metallurgical Engineering) , Dr. Reda Lutfi, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Research and Technology, (Electrical Engineering) , Dr. Mahdi Panahi, Head of Industrial Relations
They were received by the assistant dean for scientific affairs, Dr. Haider Maath Mohammad, and the administrative assistant dean, Dr. Mosab Adel Ali and heads of departments
The purpose of the visit is to learn about the college’s scientific capabilities, laboratories, scientific researches and engineering consultancy. 
 During the visit, classrooms and scientific laboratories were inspected. 
After that, a meeting was held with the Council of the College of Engineering, during which Dr. Haider Maath, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, gave an explanation about the preparation of students for undergraduate and postgraduate studies, scientific departments, scientific research activity, scientific consultations, examinations conducted for the public sector and companies, and a detailed explanation of the activity of each scientific department presented by the heads of departments
It was also agreed on scientific exchange through joint supervision of graduate students and joint research teams and the development of laboratories under according the memorandum of understanding signed with the University of Basrah.
