The Civil Engineering Department of the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah  organized a campaign to clean and cultivate plants and thyme in the department’s gardens. 
The head of the department, Prof. Sarmad Abdullah Abbas, indicated during his follow-up to the process of planting plants, that the campaign comes within a series of campaigns that the college periodically carries out in order to increase green spaces and take care of the aesthetics of the college gardens and maintain their sustainability through the implementation of cleaning and planting campaigns.
The aim of the campaign is to take care of the college gardens and public cleanliness because of their positive impact on students and improving the university environment.
