The College of Engineering organizes a scientific visit to the Jekor region in Abi Al-Khasib

The students of the Department of Architectural Engineering - the fifth stage - organized a scientific visit to the Jekor region in Abi al-Khasib, and the visit was accompanied by the head of the department, Dr. Hamed Hayab Samir, and the teaching staff of the Architectural Design subject. This area bears architectural landmarks and heritage elements linked to the memory and history of the city, perhaps the most prominent of which is the house of the great poet Badr Shaker al-Sayyab and the elementary school in which the poet studied, in addition to a large number of houses of a visual traditional character. The students were briefed on the distinctive elements of the area, and special notes were taken with photographic documentation.

On the sidelines of the visit, a meeting was also held with a number of local residents in the region, who gave a full explanation to the students about the history of the region and the changes that occurred in its traditional urban fabric during the previous decades.
