
At an invitation from the management of the Basra Gas Company (BGC) to the Deanship of the College of Engineering, a team of the College of Engineering staff visited the company's site to see the maintenance and rehabilitation operations for some parts of the plant. company.
The purpose of the visit is to see the maintenance and rehabilitation operations inside the factory, where the College of Engineering team went to the work sites to see the operations, and among these operations is the replacement of layers of materials that deplete gas moisture in the dehumidification units, and the processes of replacing heat exchangers with new ones, as well as discussions were held with the working staff.
According to the scientific cooperation between the two sides, a meeting was held between the two parties to discuss ways to develop cooperation, as it was agreed on a set of steps for the next stage, including:
1- Inviting the management of the Basra Gas Company to visit the College of Engineering to hold a panel discussion between the two parties with the aim of developing an action plan with a time frame for three phases, short, medium and long between the two parties
2- The company’s departments submit a list of industrial problems to be projects that can be implemented by postgraduate and preliminary studies students.
3- Increasing the capacity of students of the College of Engineering for summer training in the company's units during the summer vacation
4- The need to develop applicable mechanisms on the basis of which the company will support applied projects and provide their requirements through the conclusion of meaningful contracts between the two parties.
At the end of the visit, the staff of the College of Engineering gave thanks and appreciation to the company's management for inviting them to visit the company. The company's management also presented a model of layers of moisture-depleting materials used to remove the moisture of the produced gas to the visiting team.
