The College of Engineering organizes a scientific visit to the site of the urban development project in the Al-Ashar area

The College of Engineering at the University of Basrah organized a scientific visit to the site of the urban development project in the Al-Ashar area, which extends from the side of Al-Watan Street to the Shatt Al-Arab, for students of the fifth stage of the Department of Architecture, accompanied by the teaching staff of the architectural design subject. The aim of the visit was to inform the students about what is present at the project site within the phase of the documentary and analytical study of the site. The site's assets were viewed from different buildings and open spaces as well. The teaching staff provided the students with a sufficient explanation of what was there, and discussed with the students the aim of evaluating and analyzing the contents of the site, in order to help them build the possible picture of the urban development of the project site.During the visit, the students also presented ideas on how to deal with the site, take care of its architectural character, and work on its urban development in order to achieve integration with the transformations in the Shatt al-Arab Corniche, which requires a necessary response in the area adjacent to the Corniche, which is the subject of the study, in order to provide new functional spaces that serve the community use of the Corniche. . It is worth noting that this project represents the study program for the architectural design subject in the fifth stage of the Department of Architecture.
