The College of Engineering at the University of Basra, under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Mufid Turki Rashid, and in cooperation with the engineering workshops and the Department of Electrical Engineering in the Power and Machinery Laboratory, installed and operated a hybrid solar energy system consisting of inverters, solar panels, and batteries. The purpose of the project is to provide a reliable energy source that derives its power from the college network, solar panels, batteries, or any combination of the three sources above, and also to support the college network (the national grid or the central generator) by injecting the surplus into the network.
