The College of Engineering at the University of Basra Celebrates International Workers' Day and Honors Cleaning Staff

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Mufeed Turki Rashid, and with the follow-up of the Head of the Department of Petroleum and Gas Engineering, Dr. Ammar Ali, the College of Engineering held a celebration on the occasion of International Workers' Day under the slogan "Women Make the Difference," in the presence of a number of faculty members, staff, and students.

The event included a scientific seminar that highlighted the role of working women and their contributions in various fields of work, emphasizing the importance of innovation and improving the work environment to achieve sustainable development. The lecture was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Shireen Mohammed Ibrahim.

The celebration featured a special segment in which the college's cleaning staff were honored in appreciation of their significant efforts and their important role in maintaining a clean and safe university environment. This recognition reflected a spirit of gratitude and appreciation for the value of work in all its forms.

The event concluded with an emphasis on the fact that such initiatives promote a culture of respect and appreciation for all segments of society and contribute to establishing a positive work environment based on cooperation and integration.
